Product Description

The 2023 Pouilly-Fumé from de Ladoucette is a vibrant, elegant Sauvignon Blanc that strikes a beautiful balance between freshness, fruit intensity, minerality, and blossom-floral aromas. It’s ideal both as a bright aperitif and paired with seafood or light dishes.

Origins & Vineyard / Winemaking

  • The wine is made by Baron Patrick de Ladoucette, whose family (the Comte Lafond) has owned the famed Château du Nozet and its surrounding Pouilly-Fumé vineyards since the late 18th century.

  • The vineyards lie in Pouilly-Fumé appellation in the Loire Valley (Nièvre, France), including plots in hamlets such as Saint-Andelain, Boisgibault, Les Loges, etc. Soils are clay, limestone, sometimes with flint (silex) components.

  • 100% Sauvignon Blanc.

  • Vinification is stainless steel, with temperature-controlled fermentation; aged on lees (3-6 months), with regular stirring to build texture. No oak is used—this preserves the pure Sauvignon & terroir expression.

Tasting Profile

Sense Notes
Color Pale golden-green; bright and limpid.
Nose / Aroma Fresh, exotic fruit aromatics—lychee, mango; white blossoms; citrus notes (grapefruit, maybe green apple); some floral and delicate white flower tones. Mineral / flinty hints in some assessments.
Palate / Taste Juicy and smooth, with bright acidity; good fruit presence (pear, citrus, exotic fruit); texture has richness from lees aging; clean finish with mineral undertones. Some describe a vivacious fruitiness tempered by a refreshing minerality.
Finish Long and persistent, with citrus freshness and a subtle mineral, saline / flinty note.
