Product Description

The Double Eagle 2022 Sauvignon Blanc is a polished Napa Valley white that balances bright citrus freshness with surprising richness and texture. Crafted by renowned winemakers Philippe Melka and Maayan Koschitzky, it combines vibrant lemon and stone-fruit character with subtle brioche and oak nuances from its unique fermentation and aging regimen. The result is a Sauvignon Blanc that drinks more like a premium white Bordeaux—fresh, layered, and elegant with a long, lively finish.

Origins & Craftsmanship

Double Eagle is produced by Grieve Family Winery in Napa Valley, using 100% Sauvignon Blanc sourced from estate vineyards and select Napa Valley sites. The wine is crafted by acclaimed winemaking team Philippe Melka and Maayan Koschitzky, known for producing some of Napa’s most highly regarded wines.

The 2022 vintage benefited from low winter rainfall followed by a warm growing season, conditions that concentrated fruit flavors while preserving vibrant acidity.

Winemaking emphasizes both freshness and texture. The grapes are harvested early in the morning, whole-cluster pressed, and cold fermented. The wine is then aged sur lie in a mix of concrete egg vessels and French oak barrels, a non-traditional combination that adds depth and creamy mouthfeel without overwhelming the bright fruit character.

Only about 880 cases were produced, underscoring the wine’s small-production, boutique Napa pedigree.
