Product Description

This bold 2021 Selected Harvest red from Château Domecq captures the essence of Mexico’s Valle de Guadalupe: ripe black-fruit richness allied with elegant structure and modern barrel influence. A vibrant wine that invites both immediate drinking and modest cellaring, it delivers premium quality from a region increasingly recognised for red-wine excellence.

Origins & Craftsmanship

Produced entirely from grapes grown in the Valle de Guadalupe region of Baja California, Mexico, this edition is part of Château Domecq’s “Selected Harvest” line. The blend centres on classic Bordeaux-style varieties—Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Nebbiolo—hand-harvested cluster by cluster to ensure optimal ripeness. After destemming and fermentation under controlled temperatures, the wine matures for approximately 12 months in French-oak barrels before bottling, capturing both varietal purity and barrel-derived refinement.

Tasting Profile

  • Nose: Deep garnet colour with purple rim. Aromas of black cherry, cassis and blackberry compote mingle with touches of cigar box, tobacco leaf and gentle vanilla from barrel ageing.

  • Palate: Medium-to-full body. Flavours of ripe plum and dark berry fruit take centre stage, complemented by bay leaf, black pepper spice, cedar-wood and dark chocolate. Fine-grained tannins provide structure without heaviness and the acidity is fresh, giving lift and energy.

  • Finish: Long and polished. Persistent black-fruit echo, subtle graphite-mineral streak and warm tobacco leaf linger, leaving a refined dryness that invites another sip.
