Product Description

Wolfcraig’s 14-year-old Triple Sherry Cask Finish is a luxurious blend that delivers rich sherried character in abundance, tempered by finesse and balance. With its non-chill filtered, natural colour presentation, and a 50/50 malt-to-grain ratio, this expression combines both depth and accessibility. It’s a whisky designed for savoury sipping, late evenings, or special occasions — ideal for those who love sherry influence, dessert-like sweetness, and fruitcake richness, without overwhelming heaviness.

Origins & Craftsmanship

  • Crafted by master blenders Richard Paterson OBE and Ian MacMillan under the Wolfcraig brand.

  • Aged for 14 years initially, matured in fresh bourbon barrels, then finished for 3 extra years in a trio of sherry casks: Amontillado, Pedro Ximénez, and Muscatel

  • Launched as a limited production run: 4,401 bottles globally.

  • Bottled at 46.1% ABV, non-coloured, non-chill filtered—natural colour and strength.

Tasting Profile

Element Notes
Colour / Appearance Golden honey with hues of satin wood and deep gold tones.
Nose / Aroma Gentle but enticing: sun-kissed raisins, fresh peaches, tangerine citrus, lemongrass; with undertones of creamy caramel and vanilla.
Palate / Taste Generous and satisfying: figs, sweet sultanas, the richness of a Napoleon cake layered with demerara sugar and molasses. The sherry influence from the three casks brings varying intensities.
Finish Aftertaste features glazed tangerines, marzipan, chocolate mousse; spice enters via ginger and nutmeg. The finish balances sweetness and spice with lingering sherry sweetness.

Food Pairings

  • Desserts & Sweets: Rich fruit-cake, crème brûlée, dark chocolate mousse — highlights the sweet, chocolatey, citrus layers.

  • Cheese: Aged or semi-hard cheeses—Manchego, mature cheddar, or even a nutty Gouda contrast nicely with the sherry/dried fruit tones.

  • Charcuterie & Meats: Prosciutto, glazed ham, roasted duck — the umami and fat cut through the sweetness and enhance depth.

  • Fruit/Nuts: Dried fruits (figs, sultanas, apricots), candied orange peel, nuts (almonds, walnuts) — mirror the whisky’s fruit and nut notes.

  • Spiced Dishes: Lightly spiced cakes or baked goods (ginger, nutmeg) or even Indian desserts like gulab jamun or spiced sweets — their warmth complements the finish.
