Product Description

A gentle and approachable wheated bourbon, Weller Special Reserve delivers softness and sweetness in every sip. Its refined caramel, honey, and vanilla notes offer a smooth introduction to bourbon—ideal for both sipping and elegant cocktails.

Origins & Craftsmanship

Distilled at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Kentucky, this bourbon honors William Larue Weller’s legacy as the first to use wheat instead of rye in the mash bill. The recipe includes corn as the dominant grain, with wheat replacing rye. Aged for approximately 4–7 years in new charred American oak barrels, it's part of the iconic W.L. Weller line under the Sazerac Company. Bottled at 90 proof (45% ABV), it showcases a warm, burnt-orange hue.

Tasting Profile

  • Aroma & Nose: Soft and inviting—caramel, vanilla, honey, butterscotch, light oak, with a subtle floral sweetness reminiscent of honeysuckle.

  • Palate: Smooth and sweet—rich notes of caramel, butterscotch, vanilla cream, honey-drizzled fruit, and a whisper of cinnamon spice. Some tasters detect floral red fruit and apple impressions suggesting summery brightness.

  • Finish: Gentle and mellow—with lingering sweetness, soft oak, and a delicate caramel-vanilla fade; finish character ranges from light to moderate.
