Product Description

Mijenta Reposado is a reposado that strikes a thoughtful balance between agave purity and wood-softened complexity. It’s elegant without being showy, offering enough oak influence and richness for sipping, yet retaining the sweet freshness of Highlands agave. If you want a reposado that’s smooth, nuanced, and sustainable, this is a strong choice.

Origins & Craftsmanship

  • Made from 100% Blue Weber agave harvested in the Highlands (“Los Altos”) of Jalisco, Mexico

  • Distilled under the watch of Maestra Tequilera Ana María Romero

  • Aged for roughly 6 to 8 months in a blend of oak casks: American white oak, French oak, and acacia. This gives it more depth and richness than many shorter reposados.

  • Bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof)

  • Mijenta is built on sustainability: eco-friendly packaging (uses agave waste), support for local communities, etc.

Tasting Profile

Element Notes
Colour / Appearance Light golden hue, bright and transparent with a powerful body.
Nose / Aroma Vanilla, honey, orange blossom; preserved fruits; a touch of bergamot; warm floral tones.
Palate / Taste Cooked agave remains central; then sweetness from vanilla and honey; cacao nibs show in the mid-palate; warm oak; touches of toffee and orange blossoms.
Finish Long, generous, smooth. The sweetness lingers, oak warmth comes through, with just enough complexity to keep it interesting without harshness.

Food & Cocktail Pairings

  • Cocktails

    • A reposado-forward Margarita or Paloma, where the oak and vanilla can shine alongside citrus.

    • Light highball (tequila + soda + bitter or citrus garnish) to show off the floral & oak notes.

    • Neat or with a single large ice cube to taste the texture and layers.

  • Food Pairings

    • Seafood: Grilled fish, ceviche, shrimp tacos — the tequila's sweetness and oak help balance fresh, citrusy, spicy seafood.

    • Mexican Cuisine: Tacos al pastor, mole rojo, pork carnitas — dishes with spice, herbs, caramelised onions or chilies will align well.

    • Desserts & Sweets: Caramel flan, creme caramel, vanilla ice cream, perhaps fruit tarts or desserts with orange or chocolate accents.

    • Nuts & Cheese: Toasted nuts (almond, pecan), mild aged cheeses. The nuttiness echoes the oak, and the cheese fattiness balances the tequila’s warmth.
