Product Description

Gran Patrón Burdeos Añejo is a high-luxury tequila that fuses classic agave character with bold wine-barrel influences. The finish in vintage Bordeaux casks gives it an elegant depth of vanilla, dark stone fruit and toasted oak—making it a refined sipping tequila meant for special occasions.

Origins & Craftsmanship

Crafted by the Patrón Spirits Company in Jalisco’s Los Altos region, this ultra-premium expression begins with 100% Blue Weber agave grown at high elevation. The tequila is twice distilled, initially aged in used American oak and new French oak barrels for at least 12 months, and then finished in authentic Bordeaux wine barrels (“Burdeos” meaning Bordeaux in Spanish) to impart additional depth, colour and complexity. Bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) in a handcrafted crystal decanter, it is produced in very limited quantities.

Critics Reviews

  • One spirits critic remarked that the bottle “delivers a dark amber complexion and aromas of dried cherries, classic vanilla and toasted oak, followed by a palate of creamy caramel, raisins and subtle agave warmth.”

  • Another specialist in ultra-premium tequilas called it “a smoother, wine-barrel-influenced añejo that leans more toward a fine brandy than conventional tequila—agave character remains, but secondary fruit and oak dominate with elegance.”
These professional impressions confirm that Gran Patrón Burdeos is intended as a collector-grade sipping tequila, rather than a mixer.

Tasting Profile

Nose: Dark amber hue opens to dried cherry, raisin, vanilla bean, rich toasted oak and soft crème caramel.
Palate: Smooth and luxurious—stone fruit (plum, dark cherry), creamy caramel, gentle spice, subtle agave warmth and mellow oak tannin.
Finish: Medium-long, velvet smooth with light drying on the edges, leaving vanilla, toasted oak and a faint echo of cooked agave.
