As we prep for a week of self reflection, I thought it was only right to reserve the special variant of one of my favorite designs here for you all - the vampire Strap.
In most fictional depictions, vampires are considered to be undead, meaning they are already dead, but continue to exist in a state that defies normal life and death. And I couldn't help but see some real beauty in that idea.
There's a viral video thats been going around recently that basically talks about how in 200 years, we'll all be gone. Strangers will live in our homes we worked so hard to build and all our belongings will likely have been sold, given away or thrown out. A few photos of us may exist yet but the reality is that it's very likely anyone will actually remember anything about us.
As I thought about this, I realized that it's true. I know basically nothing about my great great grandparents. I'm sure they were amazing people, but the passage of time tends to do a pretty good job at erasing their history, especially as the only people who could tell their stories are gone too.
And that's a weird thing to think about. That all these moments we hold on to so tightly end up disappearing right along with us. But like a vampire, who continues to exist even after they are dead, I believe there is a way to ensure some things live far longer than just our lifetime: We have to allow the work we do to be bigger than ourselves.
My hope for this 'early halloween' surprise of a ZOX is simple - that it inspires you to live with a longer perspective. To know that your life does have the ability to reach far longer than just your physical time here, and that you are just as capable of leaving a long-term impact on our world as anyone else.
