Product Description

This limited-edition Barrel Strength bourbon is a raw, unapologetic showcase of Wyoming Whiskey’s bold side—big oak, caramel, dark fruit, and a dry, rugged finish. It’s not for the faint of heart, but for lovers of full-power bourbons, it’s a thrilling expression of “as pure as it gets.”

Origins & Craftsmanship

Wyoming Whiskey’s Barrel Strength is a small-batch, limited edition bourbon chosen from “top barrels” in their warehouses in Kirby, Wyoming. Their philosophy is “grain to glass”—all grains are grown in Wyoming, and all production (distilling, aging, bottling) occurs in state.

This expression is aged in new charred oak barrels, and bottled at barrel strength (uncut, full proof) to preserve maximum flavor. The mash bill is 68% corn, 20% wheat, 12% malted barley. (This is the same mash bill used in their small-batch and other core expressions.)

Barrel Strength #5440 was aged 10 years and bottled with strong flavor profiles of dried fruit, chocolate orange, and dark spice, and bottled at  63.7%ABV/127.4 proof

The flavor is meant to be as direct and powerful as possible—Wyoming doesn’t chill-filter or dilute this bottling.

Tasting Profile

Nose: Rich and full. You’ll encounter browned butter, cola, black currant, dried dates, dark chocolate, and toasted oak, with a whisper of leather and molasses.

Palate: Big and chewy. The bourbon brings flavors of dark caramel, butterscotch, toffee, fig, raisin, dried cherry, and spice (cinnamon, nutmeg). Oak char and baking spices anchor the sweetness.

Finish: Long, dry, and warming. Candied orange peel, dark dried fruit, buttery notes, residual oak char, and lingering spice persist. The finish doesn’t fall off quickly—it holds and dries with character.
