The iconic design of the Opera collection has been reimagined, drawing inspiration from the history of lyric opera. A tribute to opera masters such as Verdi, Puccini, Mozart and Rossini, whose works of storytelling and musical genius still resonate today with audiences around the world thanks to their flair, brilliance and imagination. The Opera Gold collection is an invitation to remember that greatness always begins with someone somewhere. The Opera Gold is a unique and exciting offering from Visconti, a fountain pen that features many of Visconti’s iconic innovations enjoyed and desired by fountain pen enthusiasts, but at a new accessible price point. Each fountain pen features details reminiscent of early Visconti designs. The classic ‘squaring the circle’ shape, a luxurious matte gold finish with detailed engravings and an abundance of innovation. The name of the collection, 'Opera' is shown on the front of the ring to enhance the link between Visconti and the city of Florence. The design elements on the remaining sides of the ring include a typical Florentine decoration with four loops inspired by the bronze tiles by Brunelleschi and Ghiberti on the north door of the Baptistery of Santa Maria del Fiore, with the addition of the Visconti “V” from the logo. As always, Visconti excels at creating uniquely swirled resins, this time in 3 classic colors. The Opera Gold collection is available in blue, red and black infused with gold marbling. Matte finish gold plated trim completes the elegant design of this classic Visconti pen design featuring a large yellow gold plated stainless steel nib. The fountain pen fills using Visconti's patented double reservoir power filler and features a second ink window around the ring of the pen behind the nib. The fountain pen and rollerball versions also feature Visconti's patented hook-safe lock closure and the fountain pen features a newly designed piston rod. The fountain pen features Visconti's new, popular large steel nib plated in yellow gold. The nib features Visconti's iconic engraved details. This adds an element of uniqueness to the pen, with no two patterns being exactly the same.
