At the heart of VIDA Litespun is the Aclara Layer, an electro-spun nanofiber infused with rose bengal, a light-responsive organic compound long used in antibacterial-therapy research.
When exposed to light, the embedded rose bengal molecules generate a short-lived photo-oxidative reaction on the material surface that helps reduce microbial buildup. Over time, the layer’s color naturally transitions from pink to white, signaling when it’s time to replace your mask. (See enclosed color-reference card for guidance.)
These masks are made on-demand in the USA and can be returned through VIDA’s recycling program for responsible material recovery.
