Plus, its impressive pyramidal shade is second to none. It boasts an eye-catching silhouette that complements its sturdy, horizontal branches and bluish-cast foliage, as well as bright orange bark. And its beauty is matched by its fast, easy growth and adaptability to a range of soil types, as well as its pest and disease resistance.

Planting & Care

Planting Instructions: Before you’re ready to plant your tree, select a location that adequately accommodates your Sequoia’s mature size. It’s also important for your tree to receive at least 6 to 8 hours of sun per day, preferably in a well-drained location.

After you’ve selected your location, dig a hole that’s at least two to three times wider than your Sequoia’s root ball. Once you’ve placed your Sequoia Tree, back fill its soil, tamp down to avoid air pockets and lastly, water to help establish its roots.

Other than proper planting and watering, your Sequoia doesn’t need much. Pruning and fertilizing aren’t necessary since it thrives without extra care.

Watering: The Sequoia Tree is low-maintenance (particularly since it’s remarkably pest and disease resistant), but an adequate watering schedule is important. Water your tree regularly, about once a week, to maintain soil moisture.

If you’re not sure when to water your Sequoia, or how much to water, simply check its surrounding soil, down to around 2 or 3 inches. If you feel that the soil in this area is dry, it’s time to water. The surrounding soil should be moist but not oversaturated.
