Today it is one of the most cultivated fruits in the world, and is produced in many countries, including Italy, Spain, Brazil, the United States and China. The blue caliph fig is a variety of fig native to Turkey and is also cultivated in Italy, Spain and other Mediterranean countries. It is a late fig variety, which ripens between August and September. Orange and blue caliph fig are two fruits that therefore have a very strong geo-gastronomic bond. Orange is a truly versatile fruit, which can be eaten fresh, squeezed, or used in the kitchen for the preparation of sweet, savory and drinks. The blue caliph fig, on the other hand, is a fruit with a sweet and aromatic taste and is often used for the preparation of jams and ice creams.
