Planting: Choose a spot in your yard that receives full to partial sun. If you live in a higher, sunnier zone, your dogwood will appreciate some shade.  Scarlet Fire flowers will achieve the most dramatic color if planted in a well-draining, acidic soil, too. It takes about two years for the Scarlet Fire flowers to develop their fuchsia color - they will remain a lighter pink without sufficient light and soil quality. When planting, make sure to dig a hole 2 times wider and just as deep as the tree’s root ball.   2. Watering: Your dogwood needs about an inch of water each week.
