Product Description

Russell’s Reserve 10 Year delivers a classic, polished bourbon experience: caramel-toffee sweetness, rounded vanilla, balanced oak spice, and a smooth, medium-bodied finish. It's ideal for sip neat, with a splash of water, or crafting a refined Old Fashioned. A quality staple with soul and consistency.

🥃 Origins & Production

  • Crafted by Jimmy and Eddie Russell at Wild Turkey.

  • Aged a full decade in heavily charred (Alligator #4) American oak barrels.

  • Bottled at 90 proof (45% ABV) and non–chill‑filtered, using their signature 75% corn, 13% rye, 12% malted barley mash bill

👃 Nose

  • Aromas of vanilla, caramel, butterscotch, and maple syrup, with light citrus peel and background oak/leather notes

  • Adding nuance: cinnamon, faint graham crackers, tobacco, and nutty undertones

👅 Palate & Texture

  • Medium-bodied and smooth with flavors of rich caramel, toffee, vanilla, and spiced oak, accompanied by a gentle rye spice.

  • Subtle fruit influences—cherry/apple—plus hints of chocolate/peanut. The oak presence is noticeable yet balanced

  • Refinement over raw power makes it an easy sipper, despite the decade of aging

🍂 Finish

  • A warm, moderately long finish featuring lingering oak tannins, cinnamon, clove, and a hint of dried fruit, with a smooth, satisfying fade

🌟 Reception & Context

  • Breaking Bourbon highlights its classic bourbon profile—caramel, vanilla, oak, light spice—showing off Wild Turkey’s core strengths

  • The Bourbon Culture notes it trims some leather/cherry intensity of earlier batches in favor of sweeter and nuttier tones

  • Rare Bird 101 praises a special 2024 bottling (LL/ME20) for its dense cherry, oak, leather, and burl flavors—considered a resurgence of the classic profile

  • Food & Wine includes it among top bourbons for Old Fashioneds, citing its balance of apricot, fig, spice, and “people-pleasing” versatility

👏 Why It Matters

  • One of the few 10-year age-statement bourbons under $50–60—offering serious maturity at daily-sip pricing .

  • Bridges the gap between value expressions (like Wild Turkey 101) and ultra-aged craft single barrels.

Only a handful of barrels are selected in small batches from the middle section or “center cut” of the rick house by Master Distiller, Jimmy Russell and his son, Associate Master Distiller, Eddie Russell. The whiskey ages for a minimum of 10 years in the deepest no. 4 char, or alligator charred barrels for richer color and deeper flavor.

Master distillers and premier whiskey makers Jimmy and Eddie Russell have brought nearly 100 years of combined experience to artfully crafting Russell's Reserve 10 Year Old Bourbon. This hand selected small batch bourbon has a rich, caramel and vanilla taste and a uniquely smooth finish
