Deep, richly purple, finely frilled leaves form upright, dense, uniform plants with a compact habit reaching 36 inches tall and 24 inches wide. As temperatures drop, the purple color intensifies, becoming even more vivid and eye-catching. Beyond its beauty, Rubybor delivers serious harvests. In trials, the plants produced up to twice the leaf weight of other red kales, offering a long, continuous supply from spring to frost. The tender, non-bitter leaves are excellent fresh, hold their tenderness even as the plant remains in the field, and also stand up well to cooking.
