As his first fixed blade in years, the Massless had to live up to these standards. Not only did the knife surpass that but his unique Theta Sheath System is so innovative it comes with a pending patent.
The Massless is Rexford’s classic combination of thoroughly modern and eminently usable design. CPM 3V steel and OD Micarta scales have been expertly machined to reduce the weight of this midsize field knife. The balance and weight of this 9.3” OAL knife is shockingly light the first time you pick it up. The Modified drop point combined with the CPM 3V at 62.5 RC can handle all tasks with ease. The full sized Micarta handles with our triple fullers offer perfect traction on a secure grip with no hot spots.
The Theta Sheath System (patent pending) is something truly unique. It is a fast forward draw, full locking, sheath system that utilizes a spring loaded locking cam. The sheath backbone consists of two pieces of aluminum with a Kydex section in between. It is completely ambidextrous and the cam can be placed on either side by the end user.
The backbone has standard 3/4" hole spacing to accommodate mounting of a wide variety of the commercially available belt loops, clips, angle and cant plates, or hard mounts. Attachment hardware and sheath hardware are standard binding posts and screws.
This sheath is not only innovative and unique due to its locking and deployment system, but the machining itself offers a weight-reducing terraced pattern that is visually striking as well as incredibly lightweight.
Finer points include our triple fullers on the Micarta handles and our logo mirroring Rexford, diamond dragged at the base of the blade.
