Inspired by the lines in a 1889 French poem written by Rosemonde Gérard, "For you see, each day I love you more, today more than yesterday and much less than tomorrow," the charm on our pendant necklace was originally popularized in 1907 by a French jeweler who distilled the poem down to '+ Qu'hier - Que Demain.' There have been a variety of iterations, but most often the charm's design features a diamond-embellished plus sign and a ruby minus sign.
