Product Description

Prince Hill 2022 Pinot Noir is a refined, single‑vineyard expression showcasing Dundee Hills elegance. With luminous red fruit, vibrant spice, and polished tannins, it’s both lively now and promising for mid-term cellaring—a worthy New World counterpart to classic Burgundy.

🌄 Terroir & Heritage

  • Grown on the historic Prince Hill Vineyard in Oregon’s Dundee Hills AVA, originally planted in 1983 by Dick Erath with Burgundian Pinot Noir Clone 95. Acquired by Silver Oak/Twomey in 2017, this north‑facing slope boasts Jory volcanic soils, ideal sun exposure, and cool coastal influence that favor refined Pinot Noir expression

  • The grapes spent ~14 months in French oak (approximately 30% new), preserving elegance and supporting complexity .

👃 Aromatics

  • Inviting aromas of wild cherry, raspberry, black tea, and violet petals, framed by delicate spice, earthy underbrush, and gentle forest notes

  • A savory nuance adds nuance, weaving herbal and tea-like tones amidst vibrant red fruits

👅 Palate & Texture

  • Medium-bodied with polished tannins, featuring bright red-cherry and pomegranate flavors layered with cinnamon, clove, and subtle cola-anise accents

  • The balanced acidity lifts the palate, lending freshness and a silky yet structured mouthfeel .

🔚 Finish & Ageing

  • A lingering finish reveals fine tannin grip, herbal earthiness, and a floral echo—it remains youthful now, but shows graceful potential over the next 5–8 years

⭐ Critical Perspective

  • Drinkhacker describes it as “savory, earthy,” anchored by rosemary and green notes, with rhubarb and cranberry surfacing later

  • Wine Enthusiast praises its vivid boysenberry, orange peel, chai spice, and black tea, balanced by bright acidity and silky tannins

🍽️ Food Pairing

  • Ideal alongside herb-roasted salmon, duck breast, mushroom risotto, or mild soft cheeses.

  • Its savory and spice profile also plays well with Mediterranean dishes, charcuterie, and grilled vegetables.
