Peeling back layers of wispy nightgowns and silk scarves wrapped around dried clumps of ylang ylang petals, you wonder how your clothes have felt, crammed into a musty corner all this time. It’s not musty, though—oddly, it’s an earthen smell that’s emanating from under the layers of quickly-shed garments and careful drawings of the local flora. Somehow, you’ve created an ecosystem in your room, the pear cores you threw haphazardly into a wastebasket weeks ago in perfect harmony with the sweat stains that polka dot your wardrobe. It’s like you’re seeing your own habitat for the first time.
