Product Description
This Reposado strikes a beautiful balance between vibrant Los Altos agave character and mellow oak-rested depth. It presents as a refined sipping tequila with enough barrel influence to please bourbon lovers, yet retains the fresh clarity of 100% agave. A polished, versatile bottle that bridges boldness and elegance.
Origins & Craftsmanship
Crafted in Jalisco’s Los Altos region using mature Agave tequilana Weber weber, this tequila follows a traditional approach. The piñas are roasted in stone or brick ovens, crushed via roller mills, then fermented in stainless steel tanks with Champagne yeast and open-air exposure. Distillation occurs twice in copper pot stills, with no additives used. The resulting spirit is then aged in used American white-oak whiskey barrels (up to ~12 months) before bottling at 40 % ABV (80 proof).
Production details reflect a clear commitment to craft and authenticity.
Tasting Profile
-
Nose: Warm cooked agave aromas lead, supported by gentle citrus brightness, subtle minerality, and a hint of black pepper spice. Oak whispers in the background, offering a light whiskey-barrel imprint.
-
Palate: The cooked agave sweetness remains front-and-center, layered with soft caramel and vanilla from the barrel. Mid-palate brings peppery spice and oak tannin texture, with citrus peel brightness and a touch of baking spice for complexity.
-
Finish: Smooth and lingering, the finish features oak-tinged spice, a trace of gentle mint or citrus lift, and an enduring agave backbone that keeps the experience grounded. The wood influence enriches but doesn’t dominate.
