Product Description

The King of Kentucky 2025 17 Year old  is a legendary, collector-worthy bourbon that blends profound age, barrel-strength intensity, and nuanced complexity. The 2025 King of Kentucky 17-year release stands as one of America’s most esteemed limited-edition bourbons—rich, layered, and commanding, yet balanced for contemplative sipping.

Origins & Craftsmanship

Revived by Brown-Forman in 2018 from a heritage brand first established in 1881, King of Kentucky is now an annual celebration of American whiskey artistry. The 2025 edition is a 17-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon, drawn exclusively from barrels filled in 2007 and aged in the storied warehouses of the Brown-Forman Distillery. Master Distiller Emeritus Chris Morris personally selected 63 barrels from specific warehouse floors to showcase intensity, maturity, and consistency.

This limited single-barrel release features heat-cycled aging conditions that amplify wood influence and flavor development over nearly two decades. At barrel strength with proofs ranging from approximately 124.4 to 135 (bottles on hand = 66.4% ABV), each hand-numbered bottle is wax-dipped and monogrammed with its warehouse location, barrel number, proof, and age statement—ensuring individual character while upholding the King of Kentucky’s legacy of rare craftsmanship.

Critics Reviews

Whisky commentators and bourbon aficionados alike hail the 2025 King of Kentucky as a milestone release. Critics emphasize its masterful balance of rich oak, deep fruit, and spice married to the intensity of barrel strength. Reviewers note that, unlike many long-aged whiskeys that can become overly drying or oaky, this bourbon maintains lush depth and interplay between fruit, sweet molasses, and restrained heat—qualities that affirm Brown-Forman’s craftsmanship and Morris’s expert barrel selection.

Tasting Profile

Nose:
Deep brown sugar and molasses open the aroma, followed by seasoned oak, leather, dark cherries, syrup-soaked raisins, and hints of chestnut and aged spice.

Palate:
Broad and rich, with cocoa powder, cherry-cola sweetness, cinnamon syrup, and brown sugar layered over toasted oak and subtle herbal undertones.

Finish:
Long and warming, balanced by dry leather and aged oak tannins, persistent dark fruit, and spiced cinnamon-nutmeg notes that echo the bourbon’s complexity.
