It is matured primarily in ex-bourbon barrels—with a large majority of the casks being American oak bourbon, and a smaller proportion having seen Marsala or Madeira influence—then bottled at 46% ABV. The bottling is non-chill-filtered and in keeping with the Mitchell family’s traditional approach to whisky-making: modest peat, full maturation and attention to terroir.
