Product Description

The 2019 Kathryn Hall Cabernet Sauvignon is a lush and luxurious Napa powerhouse—rich, velvety, and strikingly balanced. It seamlessly delivers dark, concentrated fruit framed by cocoa, tobacco, and underbrush, all underpinned by fine-grained tannins and poised acidity. A compelling flagship wine primed for refined drinking now or elegant cellaring.

Composition & Winemaking

  • A blend of 95–96% Cabernet Sauvignon, with 4–5% Merlot (and traces of Cabernet Franc) aged 25 months in 75% new French oak, primarily Taransaud barrels.

  • The core fruit comes from the Sacrashe Vineyard in Rutherford, renowned for dense, cassis-laden expression, complemented with select mountain appellations to heighten elegance.

Aromatics (Nose)

Deep and layered, the bouquet opens with freshly turned earth, dark spices, melted dark chocolate, blackberry, and graphite, evolving to cedary tones infused with tobacco and savory herb nuance.

Palate & Texture

Sumptuous and plush, driving flavors include ripe black fruits (plum, cassis), kirsch, and black currant pastilles, balanced by mocha, sweet tobacco, and a refined herbal thread. The mid-palate is expansive yet precise, marked by sleek tannins and vibrant freshness.

Finish

Long and polished, offering lingering notes of blackberry, mocha, lightly singed wood, and black licorice, with fine acidity and a minerally echo that lifts the experience.

Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it shows the lush, round, velvety style of the 2019 vintage and is already impossible to resist. It’s going to evolve for 15+ years if well stored."
