Product Description
“The Hearach” is a beautifully refined debut single malt from the rugged Outer Hebrides, combining gentle peat, polished malt and elegant maritime character. It’s approachable yet distinctive—ideal for whisky lovers seeking something fresh, balanced and rooted in place.
Origins & Craftsmanship
Produced by Isle of Harris Distillery on the Isle of Harris (Outer Hebrides, Scotland), this marks the distillery’s first legal single malt whisky. It is distilled using Scottish Concerto barley, lightly peated (around 12-15 ppm), and matured in a combination of first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, ex-Oloroso sherry casks and ex-Fino casks. The water source flows from the local Abhainn Cnoc a’ Charrain, and the distilling, marrying and bottling all happen on-island, embedding a strong sense of origin. The whisky is bottled at 46% ABV and non–chill-filtered.

-
Reviewers highlight the transparency of the production—barley source, peat level, cask types—which is somewhat rare in new-make releases.
