Frost Proof Blooms and an Abundance of Sweet Berries

Please note: To ensure we’re shipping you the best looking plants, we recommend ordering this variety between March and June.

The Indigo Gem Honeyberry is a relative of the honey suckle, that also provides tons of delicious sweet berries that are similar to blueberries.

Early every spring tons of white and fragrant blooms emerge all over this dependable shrub. Their sweet floral scent will fill you yard and drift through your neighborhood, causing your yard to be the best smelling in the neighborhood.

Late frosts won't harm these sweet blooms, they're extremely cold hardy down to growing zone 2 and provide weeks of beauty before turning into large unique berries.

Indigo Gem Haskap berries start off green, ripen with a dusty blue color as they grow, and have an elongated oval shape. Similar to blueberries, these berries have a slightly tart yet very sweet flavor. Indigo Gems have a chewy and firm texture that make them perfect for snacking.

Set your recipes apart by adding Indigo Gem berries. Your pies, jams, smoothies, and more will never be the same because they all of the sudden have a sweet and unique flavor that store bought berries can't replicate.

Not only do these berries taste great, but they're also packed with nutritious benefits. Each Indigo Gem is filled with vitamin C, Potassium, and antioxidants. While you're snacking on them enjoy the fact that you're enjoying a healthy and delicious treat while knowing that you grew these berries yourself without the use of harmful pesticides.

Plant your Indigo Gem shrubs anywhere, its compact nature of only growing 5 to 6 feet tall and 4 feet wide allow them to be planted in even the smallest gardens. They make for the perfect flowering hedge, and container plants with eye catching, tough blooms and tons of sweet berries.

These fragrant bloomers and vigorous berry producers are rising in popularity among the gardening scene. They sell out fast, we recommend getting yours today before they're gone.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: When selecting a site to plant, ensure the area has full sun and drains well.

Dig a hole with the shovel that is about twice the size of the root ball of the bush. Make sure the hole is the same depth as the container it comes in. When planting more than one bush, dig holes that are at least five feet apart in rows that are 10 feet apart.

2. Watering: Your bushes will need to be watered regularly to make certain that the root system becomes well established. The soil surrounding your tree should be moist but never saturated. Light green leaves can be a sign of overwatering, while drooping leaves can be a sign of both over or under-watering.

3. Fertilizing: You do not need to fertilize at the time of planting. Fertilize the bush twice a year, once in the spring and once after harvest.

4. Pruning: Lower limbs can be thinned out to keep the fruit from touching the soil, and excessively vigorous upright shoots can be thinned out several feet from the ground to keep the center of the bush open and to keep the bearing surface within reach.
