With only a small number of barrels and limited bottling for the U.S. market, it offers both collectability and drinkability. Origins & Craftsmanship Distilled in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, by the Chichibu Distillery (founded by whisky-maker Ichiro Akuto), this U.S. Edition 2024 is crafted exclusively for the American market. The liquid is a vatted single malt drawn from just sixteen barrels—of which two were floor-malted at Chichibu, a labor-intensive process rarely used in large scale whisky production. The barrels range in age from 4 to 10 years and consist of 15 ex-bourbon barrels and 1 ex-sherry hogshead. The whisky is un-peated, non-chill-filtered and naturally coloured, and is bottled at 52.5% ABV.The label stands out too—it playfully features a nod to Western pop-culture, symbolizing the cross-Pacific vision of the release.
