Highland Park’s Viking Heart marks the return of the 15-year age statement in a striking ceramic decanter, with a refined expression that balances orchard fruit sweetness, warm spice, and the distillery’s signature gentle heather peat. It feels more contemplative than aggressive—a whisky that invites exploration rather than overpowering with intensity. Origins & Craftsmanship The 15-year-old was reintroduced in 2021 as “Viking Heart" Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion selected primarily sherry-seasoned European oak casks for richer, spicy tones, along with sherry-seasoned American oak barrels for sweet vanilla balance, and a few refill casks to soften the profile. The whisky is bottled at 44% ABV, non-chill filtered and natural color.  Tasting Profile Aspect Notes & Highlights Appearance / Color Deep golden natural hue (no added coloring)  Nose / Aroma Warm dessert notes: crème brûlée, buttered sponge cake, orchard fruits (pear, apple), heather honey, soft spice (cinnamon), and subtle citrus zest.  Palate / Taste Silky texture with sweet vanilla, toffee, pineapple, lemon curd, baked apple, gentle heather peat smoke, and warming spice.  Finish Medium to long — honeyed warmth, soft smoke, spice linger, and a touch of citrus peel.   Serving & Pairing Suggestions Serve: Neat in a tulip or Glencairn glass to concentrate its aromas.
