Bluish-Green Hues for Groundcover and More

Imagine bright green, strong and full foliage, even in the tightest spaces – our evergreen Green Mound Junipers deliver. Famous for their ability to grow as a bonsai or versatile groundcover, the Green Mound is well-suited to placing wherever shorter plants are needed.

Another benefit? The Green Mound’s unique hint of blue. And the best part is that it keeps its rich bluish-green color year-round, with minimal bronzing or browning during the winter months. Plus, it’s easy to grow, with good drought tolerance and even adaptability to pollution. The Green Mound helps clear the air and stop soil erosion, so it’s perfect from country gardens to city streets!

But our top benefit is that each of our Green Mound Junipers is planted and grown ahead of time. And that means better results for you in your own landscape. You get the huge perks of drought tolerance, soil adaptability, strong growth and a healthy root system because of this tried-and-true process.

So now, you’ll have hardy strength and versatility in your own garden. Whether you grow our Green Mound Juniper as a low-lying shrub, gorgeous groundcover or even a one-of-a-kind bonsai, it’s a plant-anywhere essential. Get your own Green Mound Juniper today!

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Start by choosing an area with full sun and well-drained soil for your Green Mound Juniper. Any planting area that receives 6 to 8 hours of sunlight per day is ideal. With fertilizer and mulching, the Green Mound will grow in a variety of soil types. But we do recommend placing your Green Mound Junipers about 3 feet apart for best results.

To plant yours, dig a hole deep enough to cover its root ball. After placing your Green Mound, tamp down the soil while backfilling to avoid air pockets. Finally, mulch around the surrounding soil and water your Green Mound to settle the roots.

2. Watering: Once established, the Green Mound is drought tolerant, but it’s important to have a regular watering schedule. It responds well to weekly watering. You may water more in times of drought or less in seasons with heavy rainfall. But if you’re not sure when to water your Green Mound, simply check the soil – about 2 or 3 inches down. If the soil is dry here, it’s time to water.

3. Fertilizing: Fertilize your Green Mound in early spring and again in mid fall. We recommend using an organic granular or water-soluble fertilizer for best growth.

4. Pruning: Pruning isn’t required for your Green Mound Juniper, but if you’d like to shape it, it responds well to shearing.
