Isn't it wonderful to look back at your life and see how the choices you thought were tiny at the time ended up having a massive impact on your life?
Maybe it's how you met your significant other or your closest friends - maybe it's how you got that job / opportunity that changed the entire trajectory of your career. In my own life, there are so many moments that, at the time, seemed so incredibly trivial, yet are now the biggest defining characteristics of it:
Meeting Kara (my wife) at my friends apartment in Santa Monica after I nearly gave up because I couldn't find street parking.
Walking into the JoAnn's and Michaels to buy elastic and paint markers to create my very first elastic wristband back in 2010.
Meeting Nick (our amazing CPO and honorary 4th brother) at lunch in downtown LA who just happened to see I was 'making hoodies for tall guys' as we sat with our first pattern maker.
I think that's what is so special about free will. We all get to make our own decisions - we all get to be the authors of our own stories, deciding what the next chapter really has in store.
When we started working on this design, we kept going back to this idea of using mythical-looking spirit animals - beautiful creatures that symbolize the different strengths and characteristics we hope to have ourselves.
As you all may have guessed from the Halcyon F&F release previously, I've been on a bit of a mythology kick lately so in addition to all the stunning animals, we also added one of the nine muses in greek mythology known as Terpsichore, the goddess of dance and chorus. I wanted to make sure music was properly symbolized in here and this just felt so right with everything else, especially given the impact that music has on each of us.
The result of that is one of the prettiest patterns I have ever seen us make, and it's one I'm so excited to finally be releasing. One of the coolest features of this set is that each bag and strap is different - they're all cut from a portion of the pattern we created so the spirit animals you find will be completely random and unique to you.
