The Combat Woodsman by Flat Rock Forge draws inspiration from classic combat and Randall style knives. Taking the best design cues from the classics, Joe Israel has created a robust field knife that is both unique and familiar at the same time.
Starting with the ample 11” overall length, Joe heat treats the incredibly tough W2 to 59-61 HRC.The 6.25” drop point blade carries a ¾ swedge to reduce weight and improve penetration. A dramatic hamonthe lenght of the blade, terminating at the 1095 guard. The drop point design itself is incredibly versatile in the field, being able to baton, pierce MREs, notch poles and anything else you can throw at it.
A true, hand fit notched steel guard is affixed in time intensive Loveless fashion. The classic bone micarta scales are expertly sculpted with a palm swell and drop at the butt. Combined with the steel guard the Combat Woodsman is locked in hand no matter the task.
Finer details include an overall subdued finish, iron pins and stainless lanyard tube. Our logo mirrors the Flat Rock Forge logo on the blade. The sheath is made from American, vegetable tanned leather treated with beeswax to protect it from the elements.
