Product Description

Hardy and Resilient Evergreen for Any Climate

With its pyramidal growth habit and dark green foliage, the Fastigiata Mugo Pine makes an excellent addition to any landscape. The stiff, upright branches are held closely to the trunk, allowing them to handle even the snowiest of conditions.

As dense evergreens, Fastigiata Mugo Pines are built to tolerate many different conditions and climates. Their compact size makes them ideal for ornamental use, whether added as borders or used in container planting.

The Fastigiata Mugo Pine is an easy-growing, low maintenance tree that can handle extremely cold temperatures down to Zone 2. Attractive to birds and other wildlife, this evergreen provides year-round interest with the benefit of a small footprint. Order your Fastigiata Mugo Pine today!

Planting & Care

1. Planting:  Fastigiata Mugo Pines prefer rich and well-draining soil. Choose a planting location that receives at least 4-6 hours of direct sun each day.

When planting, dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and just as deep. Keep the tree straight and tamp the soil down as you fill the hole to prevent any air pockets from forming. Water the planting site when finished to settle the soil, and mulch around the roots to keep grass and weeds at bay.

2. Watering: Like most other pines, the Fastigiata Mugo Pine will benefit from a weekly watering schedule until it has become more established. Water deeply and regularly for the first growing season - you can reduce watering frequency once established. After it's settled, natural rainfall should suffice, although you can water more in times of heat or drought.

3. Pruning: During the dormancy period (late winter to early spring), be sure to remove any damaged, diseased, or dead branches away from the tree.

4. Fertilizing: Feed with a general-purpose, well-balanced fertilizer before new growth emerges in spring.
