A sad hat rack with floppy buckets and snap backs advertise the “salt life.” Perhaps a display of signature keychains (whose makers must schvitz trying to keep up with the multitude of first names these days). This store smells of sun tan lotion, coconuts, the sea outside, and flowery soaps purporting to whisk you away to the South Pacific. As if the flower prints on the clothes have come alive.
