CAPSTONE TACTICAL WEEKEND - GREENVILLE, SC

CAPSTONE WEEKEND

This event is one of the GORUCK SHOOTER CAPSTONE WEEKEND events.

A Capstone weekend is an intense series of back-to-back events crafted to challenge the elite and those who have proven their tactical grit and sharp decision-making under pressure. It’s a chance for Cadre to push participants to the edge of their skills in high-stakes, dynamic scenarios that demand accuracy, endurance, and real-world readiness. This isn’t basic training; it’s where like-minded warriors come to refine their craft and sharpen their edge.

TACTICAL DECISION MAKING - LEVEL 4

Course focus:

Tactical Decision Making – Level 4 puts students into lifelike lethal-force encounter scenarios to test whether they can actually win against a determined adversary, not just shoot well on a flat range.
Participants will run shoot/no-shoot problems and engage in crowded or complex environments, such as public spaces or home-invasion style situations, under close Cadre supervision in a safe but intense setting.
The course provides Simunition Glock 17 force-on-force training weapons so students do not need to bring their own firearms.
Entry requirements
Students must have completed Counter Active Shooter (Pistol – Day) – Level 2 or equivalent law enforcement/military combat-arms training.
Participants must demonstrate the following safety skills: flat-range static shooting and the ability to score at least 80% on a 30-round course of fire from 12 meters.

NIGHT PSD + COMBAT MARKSMANSHIP - LEVEL 4

Course Focus
Combat Marksmanship (CMMS) is intensive shooting course designed to elevate individual skills beyond basic marksmanship. To effectively and efficiently engage targets of different sizes at various ranges with primary and secondary weapon systems. Being able to operate in adverse conditions, while under psychological and physical stress, maximizing survivability and lethality. Reinforcing the fundamentals of basic marksmanship and to enhance the soldier’s ability to perform Combat Marksmanship.
Equipment details
The course uses the semi-automatic AR-15 platform and simunition, so no live ammunition is required.
Participants must bring their own MIL SPEC AR-15; folding stocks, piston rifles, 300 BLK, and non–Mil Spec buffers are not allowed due to the use of simunition bolts.
Entry requirements
Students must have completed Counter Active Shooter (Rifle – Day) – Level 2 or equivalent law enforcement or military combat-arms training involving movement, use of cover, team communication, and CQB in structures.
This course is not recommended for beginners, and participants should already be proficient enough to score 80% on a 30‑round course of fire from 25 meters.

PERSONAL SECURITY DETAIL - LEVEL 4

Course focus
Participants will face realistic scenarios involving stress and crowds, using both dry and live fire drills to build confidence and problem-solving skills in protecting individuals from threats.
Training progresses to small-team exercises where participants engage threats, protect others, and safely move people to safety under Cadre supervision.
This course is not recommended for beginners; prior completion of Active Shooter
Event qualification standards
Participants must achieve a minimum score of 70% on a 15-round course using a Tactical Law Enforcement Target or steel at 10 meters.
The drill involves firing 5 rounds with two hands, securing the dignitary, retreating to 15 meters and firing 5 rounds with one hand from cover, then kneeling to fire a final 5 rounds.
At least 11 hits out of 15 are required to pass.
All drills emphasize target identification, movement, weapons manipulation, and dynamic decision-making in a safe, scenario-based environment

COUNTER AMBUSH RESPONSE: NIGHT - LEVEL 6

Course focus
Participants must have formal training in using weapon-mounted and handheld lights for target engagement, as well as confidence moving, shooting, and communicating in confined, low-visibility spaces.
The 6-hour course focuses on fighting in and around vehicles with both rifle and pistol, using a prop vehicle for cover, fighting from within, and tactical egress while using lights for target discrimination.
Training includes dry runs, live fire scenarios, and culminating team exercises involving cover fire, communication, and movement from the vehicle to points of cover.
Prior completion of Counter Active Shooter Night (Pistol and Rifle) and Counter Ambush Response is strongly recommended.
Event qualification standards
Participants must score at least 70% on a 20-round course: 5 rounds from inside the vehicle and 15 rounds from cover after egress, at distances of 10–20 meters.
The drill involves firing from within the car, exiting while maintaining cover, changing magazines, and engaging targets from various vehicle positions.

COUNTER ACTIVE SHOOTER PISTOL - LEVEL 2

Course focus
The Cadre reinforces pistol fundamentals—stance, grip, sight picture, sight alignment, and trigger squeeze—demonstrating each drill before live fire.
Firing drills simulate real-world conditions, including varied distances, positions, and single or rapid-fire engagements, while teaching basic counter-terror strategies for active shooter response.
This course is open to all skill levels, but participants must complete dry practice with inert weapons before live fire.
Event qualification standards
Participants must score at least 70% on a 30-round course: 10 rounds each at 15m, 10m, and 5m, within set time limits.
The drill includes magazine changes and a concealed draw, with time penalties resulting in lost rounds.
Successful completion qualifies participants for a non-resident concealed weapons permit, valid for 7 years in 36 states.
