Product Description

Calirosa Añejo stands out among premium tequilas for its bold yet elegant profile—rooted in 100 % blue agave and elevated by aging in red-wine barrels, it fuses agave brightness with deep cocoa and oak-inflected layers. Ideal both for sipping neat and for those seeking something distinctive.

Origins & Craftsmanship
Crafted in Jalisco, Mexico, Calirosa’s Añejo is made exclusively from 100 % blue agave grown in the region. After traditional roasting, fermentation and distillation, the spirit is aged for approximately 18 months in Californian red-wine barrels. This innovative finishing—outside the usual new American-oak route—imparts unique flavor character, including subtle cacao and red-fruit echoing from the prior wine influence. The brand, co-founded by Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo and produced in collaboration with the Real family of tequila-making heritage, emphasizes small-batch quality and modern style.

Tasting Profile

  • Nose: Rich and inviting—initial hints of cooked agave sugar, warm caramel and chocolate-cocoa bean, with subtle red-fruit notes (cherry or raspberry) and a gentle wood spice.

  • Palate: Smooth and medium-to-full bodied. The roasted-agave sweetness leads, followed by velvety caramel, dark chocolate, soft oak tannin and a whisper of berry jam from the wine-barrel influence. Mid-palate spice (nutmeg or allspice) appears, lending depth.

  • Finish: Long and refined. The finish balances oak-driven dryness with residual cocoa-sweetness, lingering agave warmth, and a subtle after-glow of red-wine barrel influence—fruit, tannin and soft spice. The overall effect is sophisticated and memorable.
