Story:In today’s society, there seems to be so much of a focus on the physical appearance of someone. All we have to do is walk into a supermarket and all of the tabloid magazines are focused on how much weight this celebrity has gained or their newest hairstyle or clothing trend. We can all get so caught up in the façade of someone and forget that underneath outer beauty is inner beauty. When I think about compliments I give others, I came to the realization that it is easy for me to tell someone I like their shoes or clothes. Yet I thought to myself, when was the last time I complimented someone on their intelligence and who they are? When people say that beauty comes from within I really believe that to be true. True beauty starts with our brain and what we choose to do with it. Do we use our intellect to become a doctor, a lawyer, a teacher, a parent? Do we share it with others over a cup of coffee or do we write it in a book? How we choose to use our minds can change the world if we think about it. Would we be where we are today if the Wright brothers or Albert Einstein chose not to share their gifts with the world? I believe the mind is one of the most beautiful parts of someone because it is unique to that one person. We all have different experiences, knowledge, and perspectives, all of which shape us into who we are.
