Years of Abundant Apple Harvests

Known for its hassle-free care, flavorful fruit and cold hardy strength, the Arkansas Black Apple Tree is ideal for your own at-home orchard. Plus, its apples boast a long storage time, making them great for numerous recipes month after month.

Gorgeous pink blooms in mid-season give way to luscious fruits that bear by October. You can even begin to enjoy the bounty by the second growth season! And the Arkansas Black Apple Tree is a late-maturing fruit producer, giving you plenty of time for recipe inspirations.

Eat right off the tree and enjoy the crisp, tart taste of the Arkansas. The apple tastes even better if kept for 30 days in the fridge. Its superior storing quality stays fresh for up to 8 months. Bake in a pie. Puree into applesauce, or have friends over for a cider party. The fruit also dries well, making it perfect for granola or trail mix.

Best of all, it requires little upkeep. Especially since we've planted and grown our Arkansas Black Apple Trees for months ahead of time at our nursery - this meticulous care means you get a proven producer once it ships to your door. Plus, our Arkansas Black can handle heat, humidity, and drought, as well as cold down to -20 degrees. It's also one of the most pest and disease resistant apple trees and especially immune to the dreaded Cedar Apple Rust that attacks most other apple trees.

Get your Arkansas Black Apple Tree today and enjoy a burst of color, fragrance, and flavor like no other!

Planting & Care

1. Planting: For best results, find a location with well-drained soil and full sun - about 6 hours of sunlight per day. Once you've selected a location, dig a hole that's twice the width of the root ball and just as deep. Then, place your tree, back fill and tamp down the soil, and water to settle the soil. Finally, mulch to retain moisture.

*Tip: Make sure your mulch is not touching the base of the trunk.

2. Watering: Your apple will benefit from a regular watering each week, though you may have to water more during times of drought. If you're not sure when to water, simply check the soil down to a depth of about 2 or 3 inches - if it's dry here, it's time to water.

3. Pruning: Once your tree has become established and is starting to bear fruit, it will need some periodic, moderate pruning. Only prune the tree during times of dormancy, making sure to remove any vigorous, upright stems and weak, damaged or dead branches.
