They are also beginning to bottom plant some product to maximize their lease, so be on the look out in the next few years for a special oyster from this farm. Story: Krista started growing Aphrodite oysters in 2017, after learning about (and subsequently falling in love with] aquaculture. She decided to name her farm and oysters "Aphrodite" out of the love and appreciation she has for Maine's beautiful ocean, coasts, and islands. As a native Mainer, the beauty that Maine's Coasts offers is something that continually inspires her and she wants to think of Maine when they eat her oysters. When Krista is not busy growing delicious Maine oysters, she also captains a lobster boat!
