Product Description

Punica granatum Afganski produces large, bright orange fruit, considered to be among the sweetest of the species with a higher Brix than most pomegranates while still maintaining its signature tart flavor. An attractive specimen that produces bright orange flowers prior to the formation of the nutrient-dense fruit. The seeds are used in cuisine, salads, and as a condiment. The pomegranates can be dried for décor or gifts, maintaining their shape and color. Dried skins can also be used as a natural dye. One of the hardiest varieties and is a good choice for a wide range of climates, hardy in zones 6-11.

Native to Afghanistan which is famous for commercial production of pomegranates. It has survived the test of time due to its extreme cold hardiness, consistent fruit production and drought tolerance.
